Over the course of these past months your Recorder's office has been very busy meeting customer requests in a timely manner even with a third less staff.
Even under budget cuts your HCRO has been expanding access to data with the release of the Eighth Series grantor/grantee images on the web and allowing viewing of Registered Land certificates from the old computer system. We now have a fully active remote "hot site" server that can be used in case the main HCRO computer system goes down.
Looking toward the future, I have been viewing various county recorder offices and their computer software packages that could improve accessibility and efficiencies of your HCRO operations. Additionally, we are researching HCRO options to start back scanning our older film into a digital format.
Although times like these make it difficult in the short term, it should in no way diminish future planning that can enhance productivity.
In closing, next time you call or visit HCRO be sure to thank your employees who have stepped up to the plate to serve you better, while giving part of their salaries back to balance your county's budget.
